After writing a hub article on  Falken Tire Show Girls, I decided to write

hub article on arguably their biggest competitors: Hankook Tire USA Umbrella Girls. Another name for them could also be Hankook Spokes Models or simply Hankook Models. Both groups of ladies garner much attention during motor sports events all around the country while promoting their company’s most important assets—no, not themselves (ha ha)—their tires! In this business, presentation is certainly everything, especially when it’s geared to the male demographic between the ages of 16 and 35. So why are tires so important to motor sports? They can literally mean the difference between victory and defeat and being one of the most reputable tire companies in the world, Hankook Tire USA certainly has a firm place in the industry.

A Brief Overview About Hankook Tires

The Hankook Tire group, based in Seoul, South Korea is the seventh largest tire company in the world. Established in 1941 as the Chosun Tire Company, it was renamed Hankook Tire Manufacturing in 1968.

Hankook Tire’s worldwide reputation has largely grown due to its radial tire and bias-ply tire production. The company now supplies tires as original equipment to the Toyota Motor Corporation, Ford Motor Company trucks, General Motors trucks, International Truck and Engine Corporation, and others. In addition to producing about 50 million tires annually, the company also sells batteries, alloy wheels, and brake pads.

The Battle of the Umbrellas

If ever you attended a Formula Drift event or the Drift Championships, you’d understand just how important it is for each company to represent their brand as motor sports is a multi-billion dollar industry. Among the tire companies, Hankook, Falken, and Toyo tires are tops. Monster Energy Drinks and NOS Energy Drinks are among the most popular beverage companies at said events that are readily present. Some of the most beautiful models in the industry grace the landscape while promoting their respective companies and some tote their signature umbrellas around like geishas with parasols: Falken Tires and Hankook Tires first come to mind. So yes, the competition is rough, but the fresh and beautiful faces of these ladies are sure to please. Helen grew up in a very strict household wherein she learned to speak (aside from English) Slovakian and Hungarian. When she was invited to become a 2009 Hankook Tire USA Umbrella Girl, she was at the time modeling for Monster Energy Drinks. She describes herself as being more of a «good girl» rather than a «bad one» who refuses to be pressured into doing things she’s not comfortable doing. She enjoys sunbathing at the beach and pool, attending cars shows, skateboarding, playing with her dogs and drawing and painting. She also collects watches and sunglasses.
